While The Sage Group is primarily a maker of accounting and financial software, it has achieved considerable success as an ERP solution provider.

Microsoft Corporation, the bigwig of computer software sector is also present in this field. While it only has a measly 3.7% of market share, it has been acquired in a very short period. The main reason for this can be the fact the Microsoft has a brand reputation. Similarly, Microsoft Dynamics, the ERP solution of Microsoft, seamlessly integrates with other Microsoft products. This makes the deployment process a breeze.

Infor Global Solutions is another major ERP solution provider. It gained a heavy boost in reputation after it took over SSA Global technologies. Before its acquisition by Infor in 2006, SSA held 2.8% market share in the ERP market.

Apart from this, there are a number of other companies which are stepping into the shoes of ERP service provider like Lawson Software, Epicore and Industrial and Financial Systems. The most promising ERP solution provider however is Unit 4 Aggresso with revenue of $465.2 million in 2005.
